OWNER + PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
atomic * design was started by Desia Graybill, owner and lead designer, in the spring of 2009. After working with an established vintage home remodeling company, the time had come to pursue the dream of owning her own small design company that initially operated from her kitchen office. What had once been a professional goal set in a "Professional Practices" course at the Art Institute of Portland became a crafty deterrent to the reality of slowing economic means. The enjoyment brought on through the design process has propelled the company forward to a sustainable future of home design/remodeling with the help and support of clients, contractor, and tradesmen alike.
DESIGN DIRECTOR
In May 2014, Miranda Mueller was hired at atomic * design as an associate designer. She always dreamed of working with a small design company that equally valued relationships and quality in design. As years passed in school, with the anticipation and hope of being able to live out her passion, she now is able to work in an environment with her same vision. With a degree in Interior Design from Portland Community College, she has been able to take and put her training and dreams into a reality.
